Installation option instructions

To download any AgileEA files, you will need to register first and login then come back to the Download page from the [Download] tab above for the releases to show up once you have logged in.

There are three usage scenarios for the AgileEA process:

1. Use it directly 'as is' off the Internet - In it's simplest form, and if you don't want to modify it to suit your own use, then you can just use the process at http://process.agileea.com/ directly. No installation needed, just the requirement to be connected to the internet at all times. (This is the easiest and quickest approach)

2. Download and use 'as is' locally - The output of the EPF is a simple static website. So the next easiest way to obtain it for your own local use is to download the 'AgileEA Process-20xx.0.0xx.zip' from the Download page.  This means the whole AgileEA process just a collection of files such as .jpeg, .html and .css, etc. These can simply be copied into any directory you choose. Once you have downloaded it and unzipped it, just run or start the AgileEA process by double clicking the index.htm file. (This is the recommended approach to make a quick start)

3. Download the source, tailor & modify it to suit your company (using EPF) and then install the output locally - This means you need to download the "Source Code" which is the PlugIn and Config zip file. You will also need to download a free copy of EPF-composer at www.eclipse.org/epf. This set of files is the Input file set to the EPF Composer tool. You then load the plug-in, using the EPF Composer tool, make your changes and once done run a "compile" equivalent called Publish. This creates the output file set or static web site mentioned in 2. above. More detail here: How to Download and implement the AgileEA process (This is the recommended approach once you decide to change the default AgileEA process to suit your company's specific requirments and terminology.) This has the added benefits be being able to access and integrate into other ready-made plug-ins from other 3rd parties.

The document in section 3 above does assume that you know how to work with the free EPF composer tool. Find out more at www.eclipse.org/epf
