Thanks for the most recent set of principles. I should update the ones in AgileEA from these and make a new release.

I'll give the podcast a listen. In some ways I do think we need some form of proper education for the equivalent of Dr. status but it would need to be introduced from the people leaving their initial schooling, and then kick in over time. Inthe mean time we should write books. Does everyone read them though? smilies/wink.gif

Hi Charles,

Apparently I got it from an executive summary whose source was TOGAF 8.1.1, Part IV: Resource Base, Architecture Principles.

Cheers,
Rich
p.s. Starting to lose interest in EA after listening to the IASA podcast:

...I don't see a career path that uses the medical profession as a model as viable. I wouldn't have the time. I can't imagine taking so many tests. And to take a test to become a master? Can't we just write a book or something more interesting?

Thanks for the compliments and your comments.

When I brought in the TOGAF principles I simply cut and pasted everything from the TOGAF ADM PDF ver 8.0 (I think it was that version) so didn't intentionally miss out or soften anything from TOGAF.

I've not looked into these principles in any detail so you've got me intrigued now. Can you let me have the text for these and I'll include them? Also which version of TOGAF they are from. Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated (sorry about the delay its been busy lately)

Congratulations on AEA, very interesting and more accessible to me at least, compared to TOGAF.

Looking over the togaf principles, I can't find the ones about de-skilling and de-customization here. Have you softened those or incorporated them somewhere else in AEA?

As a web apps developer who's got a plate full of never-ending customization work, those two principles are of interest to me, and they raise my interest in things like RSS and XForms (feeds and services plugged into existing consumer UIs such as email/Facebook/etc. places consumer users are already engaged with).
